| Summary, etc. | Emblema, su origen griego, significa colocar en , o sobre, como las piezas que se embuten en la taracea, en el renacimiento, y de la mano de Alciato, su creador, el emblema es un género ambiguo, entre gráfico y literario, un jeroglífico o empresa en la cual , bajo una figura alegórica , se incrustaba un verso o lema que encerraba un concepto moral, seguido del comentario; en España sus autores mas representativos fueron Hernando de Soto y Sebastián de Covarrubias, si bien no alcanzaron la perfección de Alciato; sus emblemas son joyas de rara perfección, engarzan la acertada cita del Humanismo greco-romano, la erudición oportuna y leve, el talante severo y elegíaco, la enjundia conceptuosa, el animo moralizador, su estructura cerrada de soneto en prosa, el vuelo impecable hasta la desembocadura, el remate contundente y grácial, pliego de una toga esculpida en mármol.<br/><br/> |
